As of today, the Settlers Online is no longer in its Closed Beta stage.

What does it mean to be in Open Beta? Only that new players will be able to access the game faster, whithout having to wait for a key to be sent to them.

What does it change for existing players? Nothing! You carry on building your island, your city, your army and your economy. The real difference is that inviting friends is easier ;)

Remember that you can invite your friends to come and play with you, help yourselfs out and share adventures! So click here if you want to start inviting!

Update 8:03 : The maintenance has just started!

Update 9:04 : All the servers are down, redeployment is starting.

Update 9:50 : Deployment done.

Update 11:08 : Servers are being restarted for internal testing.

Dear Settlers,

As many of you have noticed, the Christmas event did not only bring new features, it also came with some new bugs.

In order to fix these, we need to close the server for about one hour at 11:00 GMT (UK time). We hope to have everything up and running fine rigts after that :)

Update: Servers are online!

Dear Settlers,

The server is back ONLINE! We need more people to test if everything is okay, so please be so kind and give us feedback on the forum about the following things:

• Buffing (friends)
• Visiting friends
• Adventures
• Daily Login Bonus
• Chat, Trade 

Thank you very much for your patience, we will be compensating you for time lost, more information about that will follow.

In case you already had adventures running: we added bonus time to them to compensate the lost time. (Update: we would have done this if someone was already level 26+ , seems we got carried away :p)

We also will send compensations out next week for the server outage!

Update 22:16 GMT+1: It seems the website is back up again, but we're not sure for how long.

Dear players,

just a short update on the current status of the website and game.

We were experiencing multiple MYSQL errors starting Thursday, that spread throughout our entire network. Our French and Russian instances were also affected, as well as the (new) German server 8, as it's on the same system. Our technicians are working round the clock to get all systems up and running, so far the website and forums are back up.

We have nearly all our high level technicians from Europe and America on this, and if everything goes well during the night, we might be able to get the first servers up by tomorrow (no promises yet, as we want them stable first! )

In the event that the Website and Forum go down again, be sure to keep track of any news regarding the situation through our Facebook fanpage

Short update #2: it could be that the website and forum will give errors for some players, as well in as in our system. I am trying to convince the technicians to keep the website and forum up as long as possible, but if our website servers crash again, there will be the inevitable maintenance page again.
