Migration of Test Server
Dear Settlers,
The first bigger, visible step of the migration is around the corner. Today, we will shut down the external test server until further notice to transfer the test system into our infrastructure.
Afterwards, we will carry out a few internal tests. Therefore, we cannot yet tell you when exactly the test server will be publicly available again. Of course, we will inform you as soon as you can log in again and help us with the testing.
As previously announced, we will only start with the migration of the live servers and game worlds once the external test system is running reliably within our infrastructure. We will provide you with information about specific dates and maintenance windows as soon as they have been determined.

Halloween Event on Test Server
Dear Settlers,
Today, the Halloween Event has been deployed on the test server. It is worth taking a look! This year we have filled the bag of sweets for you with eerily delightful new additions.
Spooky new buildings with chilling quests and a new ghostly specialist are waiting for you.
The exact start date of the official Halloween Event this year has not been determined yet due to the upcoming server transfers. However, we still want to give you the opportunity to test and try out the new content well enough in advance. The transfer of the external test system to CipSoft has not taken place yet. We will inform you as soon as it is scheduled.
The start date of the Halloween Event along with a compact overview of the new content will be provided at a later time.

The Migration is Getting Closer
Dear Settlers,
Over the past weeks and months, we have continued to work diligently behind the scenes to prepare for the migration of The Settlers Online. Today, we would like to give you a short overview of the next steps since the transfer of the servers from Ubisoft to CipSoft is getting closer.
As already announced, player data from accounts that have objected to the transfer will be deleted before the migration. To make sure none of these players loses their account unintentionally, they will see a specific warning message about this when logging in on the website. If the objection was not intended, they should then contact our support team via tso-support@cipsoft.com as quickly as possible.
The first bigger, visible step of the migration will be the transfer and integration of the test system and the external test server into our infrastructure. Afterwards, we will monitor the test server closely and, hopefully with your support, check whether there are issues or problems related to the migration. Once the external test system is working reliably, we will then gradually transfer the live servers and game worlds.
Please note that the migration of the servers will not yet change the login via Ubisoft Connect or the Ubisoft payment system. However, both will be replaced by our own solutions soon after the server transfers have been completed. Until then, please do not delete or unlink your Ubisoft Connect account from The Settlers Online, otherwise you will no longer be able to play.
At the moment, we cannot yet provide concrete dates or maintenance windows. We will inform you in advance once a step is scheduled, and we will, of course, do our best to keep interruptions as small as possible. However, due to the technical complexity of the server transfers and their integration into our infrastructure, it may occasionally be a little bumpy during this phase.
Your patience and understanding in recent months have been a great support to us. We truly appreciate this and thank you for your trust. We are delighted that the migration is now within reach and The Settlers Online is moving to its new home with CipSoft.

Connection Issues resolved
Dear Settlers,
The connection issues from the afternoon have been resolved and access to the game has been working again since about 17:00 CEST. We thank you for your patience and your understanding!

Compensation Anniversary Event 2025
Dear Settlers,
Due to the missing removal phase of the Anniversary Event, many players were unable to claim their reward for reaching the second community goal. We have evaluated the options we have available to remedy this. Unfortunately, it is not possible to simply reactivate the removal phase.
We are now working on a solution to ensure that all players who were online during the event and have not yet claimed the reward for the second community goal will receive it retroactively.
This will require some development time, though, so it will not be ready this week. We cannot provide a concrete date yet, but we are doing what we can to deliver your well-deserved reward as soon as possible. As part of this, the event merchant will then also return.
We are sorry that this issue impacted the success of the event and we are grateful for your understanding.

Missing Removal Phase of Anniversary Event
Dear Settlers,
After the Anniversary Event ended at 10:00 CEST today, the removal phase did not start as expected, which means that no rewards can currently be obtained. This is unintended, and we are already looking into the issue.
Thank you for your patience!

Data Transfer: Objected by Mistake?
Dear Settlers,
On 24 August 2025 at 00:00 UTC, the period to object to the transfer of your game data to CipSoft will end.
Please check that you have not accidentally objected to the data transfer. An objection means the permanent deletion of your The Settlers Online account and will prevent you from continuing to play.
You can check your current status under "My Profile" by expanding the section "Data transfer to CipSoft". If the checkbox there is empty, no objection exists, and your data will be transferred.
If there is a tick in the checkbox, this means you object the data transfer:
If you want to continue using The Settlers Online but see a tick in the checkbox, you must change this setting before the objection period ends.
To do so, follow these steps:
(1) Remove the tick from the checkbox by clicking it, so that the box is empty.
(2) Make sure to click the "Change" button to save this setting.
(3) A small confirmation window will open. Click "Okay".
Done! If you now check your profile and look under "Data transfer to CipSoft", you should see an empty checkbox. This means your data will be transferred to CipSoft, and you can continue playing The Settlers Online with your account.
Happy settling!

Current Migration Status
Dear Settlers,
Many of you have been wondering how the migration of The Settlers Online is progressing. While preparations are well underway, most of the work until now has taken place behind the scenes. Therefore, we would like to give you a brief overview of the current status.
We understand that some of you would prefer details or hope for concrete news about the future development of the game. However, with a project of this scale and complexity, many things still require coordination, remain subject to change, or are of a confidential nature. There are numerous dependencies and links that are influenced by a wide range of factors, and their full scope is difficult to assess from outside. Reliability is important to us, so we focus our communication on relevant topics for which we can provide solid information.
The goal of the migration is to transfer all servers and game data to CipSoft's systems and to detach them from Ubisoft's infrastructure. For example, we will switch to a system with separate accounts for The Settlers Online in the future, replacing the current Ubisoft Connect accounts. Ubisoft will soon inform you by email about the terms under which your data may be handed over to CipSoft. If you do not want your data to be transferred, you will have 30 days to object. In that case, your game data will then be deleted.
Our technical team is currently busy preparing the migration of the servers and the game data. This includes, for example, setting up the infrastructure for The Settlers Online at CipSoft. They are also building an internal test system to be able to test the relocation thoroughly, so that the actual migration can run as smoothly as possible.
Our overall aim is to minimise game disruptions caused by the maintenance work required for the migration. Hence, the first possible time window for the server transfers is the period after the Anniversary Event and before the start of the Halloween Event. However, since this depends on various factors, we currently cannot guarantee that the migration will actually take place during that window. We will let you know as soon as we are certain whether that timeframe is feasible.
We are already taking care of the community management. For now, we are using the existing structures to keep you informed and to stay in touch with you: the news section and forum on both the German and English websites. In the long term, we want to create a central and consistent place for game information, news, and communication that is easy to access for all of you and reliably available.
Our support team is already assisting you together with Ubisoft staff as far as possible at this stage. While we do not have direct access to the game servers and data yet, we are working with Ubisoft to improve the situation.
The part of The Settlers Online team that chose to join CipSoft is continuing its previous work on the game. At the same time, we have formed a team of experienced CipSoft members in Regensburg who are now getting familiar with the game code and design.
We hope this short overview gives you a bit of direction and helps to put the current stage of the migration in context. We would like to thank all of you again for your support, your patience and your understanding. We look forward to the future of The Settlers Online and our journey together.

Support Responses Currently Delayed
Dear Settlers,
Unexpected structural challenges are currently affecting our coordination with Ubisoft regarding support matters. As a result, we are currently unable to uphold the level of service we aim for and, unfortuantely, cannot respond to all of your inquiries in a timely manner.
We know this is far from ideal and we understand that longer response times can be frustrating. It is important to us to communicate this openly and ask for your understanding. We are sorry that we are currently unable to provide our usual level of service. We are working closely with Ubisoft on a solution.
We would also like to inform you about the following change:
For all support inquiries, including those related to payment issues, please use our support email address tso-support@cipsoft.com from now on.
Thank you for your understanding!

Your Questions, Our Answers
Dear Settlers,
About a month ago, we announced that CipSoft is taking over the operation and development of The Settlers Online. You welcomed us with open arms, words of encouragement, great interest, and thoughtful advice. We truly appreciate that, thank you! Your support means a lot to us.
Since then, we have collected your questions about the change, our plans and the future. Today, we want to offer some answers, published as FAQs in the forum. In many aspects, we cannot provide you with concrete details yet since many decisions are still open. Nonetheless, we hope we can give you a general idea of the road ahead and the path we want to walk together with you.
This journey will not always be smooth sailing. We are confident, though, that we will overcome the challenges ahead together to keep The Settlers Online alive, developing and shaping its future with and for you.
We also have important information concerning support requests. You can find it in the FAQs as well:
Customer Support is now handled by CipSoft. Until further notice, the best way to reach our support team is via the new email address tso-support@cipsoft.com. The contact form on the website will also remain available and should especially be used for payment issues. For all other topics and problems, we recommend using the new email address.
Important: If you submitted a ticket before May 1, 2025 and are still waiting for a response, please send us your request again using the new email address tso-support@cipsoft.com. All tickets submitted on or after May 1, 2025 will be processed so there is no need to resend those.
With that being said:
There is a lot to do. Let us get started. We are looking forward to it!

A First Hello and a Glimpse Ahead
Dear Settlers,
Nearly a month has passed since we announced together with Ubisoft that CipSoft is taking over the operation and future development of The Settlers Online. At the time, we briefly introduced ourselves in a letter to you.
Today, we are reaching out to you directly through this news article. This first visible step feels special to us. We are curious and excited about what lies ahead, and we look forward to walking this path with you. To be honest, we are also a little nervous, as we approach this task with a great deal of respect and responsibility.
Much is still new to us. We did not develop the systems, tools, or processes surrounding the game ourselves, so there is a lot we need to learn. We also want to get to know you, the community that has been at the heart of The Settlers Online for so long, and find out more about your wishes, needs, and expectations. It will, however, take time for us to become familiar with everything. We hope we can count on your understanding, since not everything will go smoothly from the start.
We have been following your comments closely since the announcement. We are aware that many of you still have open questions. We are currently preparing an FAQ, which we plan to publish in the course of the next week, both in German and English. We will, of course, inform you through a news article as soon as it is ready.
There is also something important we want to inform you about:
We want to ensure that you can find news about The Settlers Online quickly and reliably in one consistent place. To keep communication clear and manageable, we will focus on German and English moving forward. This means that news will only be published on the German and the English website (UK), and we will only post in the corresponding forums.
We understand that this change may not be easy for everyone, especially if news articles are no longer provided in your preferred language or on the website you use to play. Also, the current login structure leads to limitations for posting in the German and English forums. Unfortunately, this is not something we can resolve quickly. Nevertheless, we want you to continue to feel part of the community and to stay informed despite this hurdle. We are taking your perspective seriously and will look for long-term improvements.
Until the FAQ is ready, we invite you to visit the German and English forums to meet Mirade, who, together with her team, will be taking care of the community management from now on.
Kind regards and happy settling,
Your CipSoft Team

Important News! (Updated)
Dear settlers,
The following activities may currently lead to unforeseen issues.
- Opening guild festival packages leads to the Locked Zone Update: this issue was fixed in the 22/01/25 update.
- Sending out General Brohman can remove recruit mercenaries from the starmenu
To avoid this security lockdown, we ask you not to send General Brohman on adventures at the moment!
As soon as a solution has been implemented, you can send General Brohman as usual.
If you already have a locked zone, it will be automatically fixed by a nightly script.
Thank you for your understanding and patience!
Your "The Settlers Online" team
